MIdway game

In July 2020 I ran a distributed online Battle of Midway game for the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps over the course of nine days. This short video summarizes the game action over the eight moves.

CORAL SEA GAME

Battle of Coral Sea is a follow-on to the Battle of Midway game (yes, in reverse historical order) that debuted December 2020 with the US Naval Sea Cadets. This video summarizes their ten moves over two weekends.

NWC TOUR

The Invicta History channel visited the Naval War College and did a series of interviews focused on the history of the college and war gaming. This is a walking tour I conducted looking at the progess of gaming at the college from 1884 to present (Note: this will take you to the Invicta YouTube channel).

PLAN Orange

The Invicta History channel visited the Naval War College and did a series of interviews focused on the history of the college and war gaming. This is a lecture I give on the war college's role in War Plan Orange, based primarily on the work of Ed Miller, author of War Plan Orange: The U.S. Strategy to Defeat Japan, 1897-1945. (Note: this will take you to the Invicta YouTube channel).

What is a game

This is a retro video from 2012 (you can tell by the black-to-grey hair ratio) where I talk about games and their distinguishing characteristics as part of the US Naval War College's War Gaming Department professional development series (Note: this will take you to the US Naval War College YouTube channel).

Rabbit & Tiger

The Rabbit and the Tiger is a short video I used to introduce a discussion on critical thinking and problem solving based on Morgan Jones' book "The Thinker's Toolkit."
